Early, in-person voting in both the Republican Party and Democratic Party primaries will continue through Friday, March 1.  The last day for qualified, registered voters to request for a ballot by mail is by the end of the day on Friday, February 23.

Registered Kerr County voters can cast their ballots at either the Hill Country Youth Event Center, 3785 TX27 in Kerrville, or the West Kerr County Courthouse Annex, 510 College Street in Ingram.  Voters who plan to cast their ballots at the Hill Country Youth Event Center on Saturday or Sunday, Feb. 24-25, should note that they are being asked to enter through Gate 2 and utilize the eastern side of the parking lot, due to the gun show happening at the same time at the event center.

Hours for the other early voting period are:

8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23

7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24

Noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25

7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday, Feb. 26-March 1.

Gillespie County registered voters can cast ballots early for Texas’ March 5 at the Gillespie County Elections Department office, 95 Frederick Road, Suite 100, in Fredericksburg.  Both Republicans and Democrats can vote on Friday, Feb. 23 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Election Day, March 5, all polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  As long as you get in line before 7 p.m., you will be able to vote.  To vote in Texas, you need to bring a form of identification with an acceptable form of photo ID.

More than 17.9 million Texans are currently registered to vote, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.  After two days of early voting, more than 300,000 votes have been cast, for a statewide turnout of 1.72%.  Of all votes, about 67% have been in the Republican primary, while 33% have been in the Democratic primary.
