Most Kerr County offices, including those located at the Kerr County Courthouse, 700 Main Street in Kerrville, and those offices located at the West Kerr County Courthouse, 510 College Street in Ingram, will be closed on Friday, March 29, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. These closures will not interrupt any emergency services, including those provided by law enforcement, the fire departments, or paramedics.
Normal operating hours for county offices will resume on Monday, April 1. For business hours of a specific county department, refer to its departmental page on the county’s website: www.kerrcountytx.gov.
Additionally, county employees will not be working on Monday, April 8, after Kerr County commissioners voted unanimously to deem the day -the day of the total solar eclipse. The day will be considered an “administrative day” similar to that declared during times of severe weather. County facilities will be closed on April 8, which is to help lessen congestion on local roads and strain on local infrastructure.
County offices will reopen on Tuesday, April 9. The Kerr County Commissioners’ Court, which usually meets the second and fourth Mondays of each month, has adjusted its schedule for the eclipse event and county closing. It’s regular session has been moved to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, in the first-floor Commissioners’ courtroom.
