Johnson City Science Mill offering tickets for eclipse viewing

The Science Mill in Johnson City, which lies in the path of totality for the April 8 eclipse, is making limited space at the museum available for viewing.  Each ticket includes regular admission for four people, four solar eclipse glasses, and a parking space in the west parking lot off of US Hwy 290.  Parking is contingent on the weather and cannot be guaranteed except for inside the west parking lot.

According to NASA, you should wear a set of eclipse glasses that comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard when viewing any eclipse.  This is thousands of times darker than standard sunglasses.  The agency also notes that “viewing any part of the bright sun through a camera lens, binoculars or a telescope without a special-purpose solar filter secured over the front of the optics will instantly cause severe eye injury.”
