Numerous events on tap this weekend in Fredericksburg

Fall is officially here, and the City of Fredericksburg is in the mood to celebrate the cooler temperatures by hosting several exciting events.

The 44th Oktoberfest, sponsored by the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance (PCAA) runs from Friday through Sunday, October 4-6.  The family-oriented event will take place at Marktplatz in downtown Fredericksburg.

First Friday Art Walk is Friday, October 4 showcasing numerous galleries including, Blue Oak Trading Company, Charles Morin Fine Art, Larry Jackson Fine Arts & Antiques, InSight Gallery, Radovan Gallery, and Good Art Company.

Patrons and fans of history can now enjoy the LBJ Ranch from the seat of their bike.  Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park will be hosting free guided bike tours on October 5, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26.  For more information, visit www.nps.gov.

As a reminder for area visitors this weekend, anyone who happens to hear some loud noises, don’t be alarmed.  The National Museum of the Pacific War wants the public to know it will be conducting weapons demonstrations at the Pacific Combat Zone, 508 E. Austin Street, on Saturday, October 5, at 11:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m., 2 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.
