In celebration of Earth Day, the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department has announced that all day-use entry fees to Kerrville-Schreiner Park will be waived on Tuesday, April 22.

For over 50 years, Earth Day has served as a global reminder to protect our planet and promise sustainable practices, ensuring that parks and public lands remain vibrant and accessible for generations to come.  Located at 2385 Bandera Highway, this scenic park provides easy access for the community to enjoy the outdoors and reflect on the importance of environmental stewardship.

The Parks and Rec. Dept. will kick off Earth Day with a guided morning hike hosted in partnership with Kerrville’s Bird City Committee.  The hike will begin at 8:30 a.m. from Trailhead 4 and is designed to be a relaxed, rejuvenating experience for all ages and fitness levels.

Kerrville-Schreiner Park spans 517 acres and features an array of natural attractions, including private access to the Guadalupe River, the Texas Master Naturalist Pollinator Garden, a newly constructed shaded playground, and over 14 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.  The community is invited to celebrate Earth Day by immersing themselves in the beauty of Kerrville-Schreiner Park – breathe in fresh air, explore the trails, and discover all that nature has to offer.

For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
