Only appointments already on the books will be carried out at the Kerr County Veterans Service Office from June 5-16, due to minimal staffing during that time.  “Due to prior engagements, our office will be down to a skeleton crew those two weeks.  So, for that short time, we will be fulfilling only appointments that are logged on our calendars,” said Kerr County Veterans Service Officer Jenna Sanchez.  “Any walk-ins during this time will not be able to be seen, but they will be encouraged to schedule a set time for a meeting when we are back up to a full complement of staff.  We are grateful to our clients and potential clients for their patience during this temporary change.”

Completely free of charge, the Kerr County Veterans Service Office helps veterans, their family members and their survivors living in Kerr County understand and obtain the legal benefits that are available to them under federal and state laws.

The Kerr County VSO, located in Suite 107 of the county’s 550 Earl Garrett Street complex, will return to normal operating hours on June 17.

Normally, the VSO is open Mondays through Thursdays.  Walk-in visitors are usually accommodated, but those with appointments are always given priority.

Contact the VSO by calling 830-792-2203 or emailing veterans@co.kerr.tx.us.

Those in need of immediate attention while the Kerr County office is minimally manned during that two-week period may contact the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Southwest District office at 1-800-252-8387.

Free, confidential support is available 24/7 for any veterans in crisis or caregiver of a veteran in crisis through the Veterans Crisis Line.  Just call 988 and press 1 or text 838255.
