A star has been named after a camper still missing from Camp Mystic after the catastrophic Kerr County floods. The star, named “Cile Steward,” can be seen on a clear night without binoculars, according to The Uvalde Foundation for Kids, who has partnered with the National Star Registry.
The Uvalde Foundation initially launched a nationwide campaign to aid victims following the tragedy, raising thousands of dollars and providing over three tons of emergency supplies to those affected by the floods.
“Now when we look up at the night sky each night, look to the coordinates and assuredly you will find Cile burning bright,” Foundation founder Daniel Chapin said. “We will not forget her and to us she will never be lost. As her star now burns forever, so will she in the hearts and actions of Texans and a nation forever. Shine bright young lady.”
