The Kerr County Veterans Service Office (VSO) in partnership with the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) is hosting a free fan giveaway and resource event Wednesday, June 17, at the Kerr County VSO offices, 550 Earl Garrett Street in Kerrville.
“The purpose of this event is to connect eligible Kerr County senior citizens with valuable support services designed to help them maintain their independence, health and quality of life,” said Jenna Sanchez, Kerr County Veterans Service Officer.
Residents who are 60 years of age or older are invited to visit the event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn more about available resources, assistance programs and to determine their eligibility. Services may include:
~Income Support – Assistance with managing utility bills and maintaining financial stability.
~Health Maintenance – Support for health-related needs, including eyeglasses, dental care, incontinence supplies, and other essential services.
~Residential Repairs – Minor home repairs and modifications to help ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
~Personal Assistance – Help with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and other essential tasks.
~Emergency Response Systems – Installation of electronic monitoring systems that provide peace of mind and rapid response in the event of an emergency.
~Cooling Assistance – Fans will be available for eligible seniors while supplies last. AACOG may also be able to assist qualifying residents with window air conditioning units to help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment during periods of extreme heat.
The Kerr County VSO and AACOG are committed to helping seniors access resources that support independent living and improve overall well-being.
