Center Point VFD continues rebuilding following most recent floods

The Center Point Volunteer Fire Department is once again rebuilding after floodwaters tore through its station last week, damaging equipment and the building itself.  The station sustained flood damages for the second year in a row.

The latest flooding came after the Guadalupe River surged about 35 feet in just four hours.  Inside the VFD, standing water covered the floors while office furniture, kitchen supplies and newly purchased drying equipment were left damaged.  The outside of the building was also damaged.

Despite facing its own losses, the department spent much of the flooding responding to emergency calls, water rescues and evacuations throughout the community.

The fire department is now accepting donations through Venmo to help replace damaged equipment and continue serving the community.
