Woman found dead at Enchanted Rock State Park

According to the Llano County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was found dead along a trail at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area Thursday.  Park staff were notified of a possible deceased person around 3 p.m. Thursday, August 27, and authorities say an investigation is underway.

The 59-year-old woman, from East Texas, was found on the west side of the park and was discovered by an individual walking the trail.  State Park Police, the Gillespie and Llano County Emergency Management and the Willow City Volunteer Fire Department responded.  A Llano County Justice of the Peace responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy to help determine the cause and manner of death.

Texas Parks and Wildlife says her cause of death remains unknown and the investigation is ongoing.  The Llano County Sheriff’s Office said no foul play was suspected.

Texas State Parks extended its condolences to the woman’s family and friends.
