The Kerrville Police Department arrested three suspects on Saturday, May 8, for an attempted theft of an ATM machine located at Guadalupe Bank, 1309 Bandera Highway, in Kerrville. The suspects were unsuccessful, fled from law enforcement, before finally being apprehended over the course of seven hours.

A witness saw the alleged suspects run away from the bank before getting into a waiting vehicle and driving away from the scene. The witness was able to give a detailed description of the suspects along with the type of car they eventually left in.

KCSO deputies located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to flee before wrecking at the intersection of Highway 16 South and West Creek Road. At this point, the suspects fled on foot, discarding numerous items such as clothing, shoes and U.S. currency.

As officers continued a search of the area, a Mercedes sedan was spotted driving around before finally coming to a complete stop. The driver of the car, Charley Drew Curry Jr., of Houston, told authorities he was asked to give some friends a ride. He was later confirmed to have been involved in this offense, according to KPD, and arrested.

A resident called 911 to report a suspicious person in the area of the 100 block of West Creek Road who had entered a shed on the property. Deputies and officers located the suspect and arrested Nicholas Joseph Bell, of Houston, who was transported to KPD to be interviewed by investigators.

A San Antonio taxi was involved after allegedly being called at about 10:00 a.m. to pick up a fare in the area and take the caller to a Kerrville address. After officers went to the “address” they discovered another suspect, Ishmael Lester Harrison, of Houston, hiding in a car belonging to the property owners. He was taken to KPD to be interviewed by investigators.

Harrison was found to have an active warrant out of Harris County for Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, and two full extradition warrants out of Tennessee for felony Larceny, two counts of Burglary Motor Vehicle and two counts of Theft of Property. He was booked on those warrants as well as KPD charges of Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, felony Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Criminal Instrument and felony Attempted Theft.

Curry was charged with Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, felony Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Criminal Instrument and felony Attempted Theft.

All three suspects were booked into the Kerr County Jail and held pending bond. Additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
