Cailloux Theater closing for repairs and renovations

San Antonio-based contractor Guido Construction will begin long-awaited repairs on the Cailloux Theater this week.

The $3 million project, which was approved by Kerrville residents as part of a $20 million sales tax bond election in 2023, will replace the theater’s roof, install a new heating, ventilation and cooling system, and repair damage from leaks.  Work is expected to be completed by August.

The 800-seat Cailloux Theater is part of the Kathleen C. Cailloux Center for the Performing Arts, which also includes the VK Garage Theater.  The latter theater will remain open during this project.
