Early numbers show Abbott and O’Rourke way ahead in their respective party’s primaries

GOP Governor’s Race: Governor Greg Abbott: 68.41%; Don Huffines: 12.59%; Allen West: 11.11%

Democrat: Beto O’Rourke: 92.51%; Michael Cooper: 2.79%

Lt. Governor:

GOP: Dan Patrick: 79.56%; Trayce Bradford: 5.93%

Democrat: Mike Collier: 46.14%; Michelle Beckley: 30.93%

Texas Attorney General:

GOP: Ken Paxton: 45.37%; George P. Bush: 20.25%; Eva Guzman: 20.37%

Texas Land Commissioner:

GOP: Dawn Buckingham: 46.74%; Don Minton: 13.14%

These numbers represent the proportion of votes so far, out of the estimated total votes cast in each race. These numbers already include early voting, which is the majority of ballots. Ballots still being counted are ballots cast on Election Day.

Early numbers indicate both of the evening’s predicted winners regarding who will be representing both sides on the political ticket this November for the highly anticipated governor’s race are already well ahead of their opponents.

With 7% of the expected vote in: Beto O’Rourke has 95% (113,446) of the votes on the Democratic side to represent his party for midterm elections. O’Rourke is followed by Joy Diaz, with 1.9%.

Incumbent Governor Greg Abbott, who has raised more than $62 million for his campaign in just a matter of two months, is well ahead of his GOP opponents after 4% of the expected vote has been tallied. Abbott has 74.5% of the vote, followed by Allen West, with 9.7%. Don Huffines has collected 8.7%
