Early, in-person voting for the upcoming November 8 General Election begins Monday, October 24 through November 4. All registered voters in Kerr County can cast their ballots at either the Hill Country Youth Event Center, 3785 TX 27, in Kerrville, or at the Ingram Independent School District Administration Building, 510 College Street, in Ingram.
According to Kerr County Tax Assessor-Collector Bob Reeves, during the week of October 24-28, and again from October 31-November 4, in-person voting will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voting will also be available on Saturday, October 29, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., but there will be no voting available on Sunday, October 30.
Kerr County residents may request a ballot by mail if they are:
65 years of age or older
Disabled
They will be out of the county during Early Voting and on Election Day
They are confined in jail, but legally eligible to vote
Applications for a ballot by mail can be submitted no later than 5 p.m., Friday, October 28. Applications may be submitted by regular U.S. Postal Service mail and addressed to: Bob Reeves, Kerr County Tax Assessor-Collector, 700 Main Street, Suite 124, Kerrville, TX 78028.
On election day itself, November 8, voting will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at some 20 polling locations across the county, Registered voters may find their polling precinct printed on their voter registration card, along with a corresponding list of balloting locations on the county elections department page: www.co.kerr.tx.us/elections/.
Kerr County residents will be voting on three separate bond issues for Kerr County.
Proposition A is for the issuance of $13,685,000 in general obligation bonds to be used for some courthouse improvements mandated, but unfunded by the state, which includes security improvements and storage for courthouse archives according to state regulations.
Proposition B is for the issuance of $8,065,000 in general obligation bonds for the purpose of updates and improvements to the Hill Country Youth Exhibition Center in Kerrville.
Proposition C is for the issuance of $5,750,000 in general obligation bonds for the purpose of designing, acquiring, constructing, improving, upgrading and updating a new animal control facility.
Additionally, Kerr County voters will be opting their choices to seat the U.S. Representative for District 21, state’s office of governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller of public accounts, commissioner of the general land office, commissioner of agriculture, railroad commissioner, Supreme Court justices for Places 3, 5 and 9, Court of Criminal Appeals judges for Places 5 and 6, District 24 State Senator, District 53 State Representative and the 4th Court of Appeals District justices for Places 6 and 7.
