It is important to note that there are two separate sites for the Fredericksburg City Council election and the Fredericksburg Independent School District Board of Trustees election.
Three of seven seats are up for election for FISD Board of Trustees.
Early voting for these spots will take place at the Gillespie County Annex 3 Building, located at 95 Frederick Road.
Regarding the Fredericksburg City Council election, the seats held by Tom Musselman and Jerry Luckenbach are up for re-election.
The challengers include James McDonald, Emily Kirchner, Tony Klein and Tom Musselman.
Fredericksburg Mayor is being challenged by Jeryl Hoover and Timothy Ellis Riley.
Voters will also be deciding on a bond election for a new Middle School, which was called by the FISD Board of Trustees on February 14, 2022, after a 2019 steering committee bagan looking at addressing the needs of the current middle school.
Overall, safety, security and much-needed upgrades were the focus mentioned by students, administrators and bond committee members.
The bond election is set for Saturday, May 7. For more detailed information, visit the Gillespie County website.
