Heart of Texas Country Music Festival kicks off March 13

The 36th Heart of Texas Country Music Festival kicks off on Thursday, March 13 in Brady, Texas.  The event  runs through Saturday, March 22, presenting 24 shows by the stars and legends of country music.  Tickets, schedule, venues, dates, and performance times can be found at www.heartoftexascountry.com or by phoning (325) 597-1895.

According to host and founder Tracy Pitcox, the event is one of the largest of its kind, featuring dozens of performances by the most familiar names in the country music industry.  Scheduled to perform are Gene Watson and the Farewell Party Band, Moe Band, The Malpass Brothers, Dottsy, Tony Booth, Jeff Woolsey and the Dance Hall Kings, Tommy Horton, Darrell McCall, Kay Adams, Mary Lou Turner, Justin Trevino, Mona McCall, Joe Rucker, Kaye Tolson, Sharon Kenaston, Bode Barker, Jack Phillips, Russ Varnell, Tommy Hooker, Billy Mata and Texas Tradition, Jody Nix and the Texas Cowboys, Jake Hooker and the Outsiders, Kelly Spinks and Miles of Texas, Landon Dodd and the Dance Hall Drifters, The Rocky King Band, Jeannie C. Riley, Amber Digby and Rance Norton.

Other activities on the schedule include the Darrell McCall and Friends Golf Tournament, and the Heart of Texas Steel Guitar Show.

Performances will be held in Brady, TX at the following venues:  TruCountry Hotel Ballroom, 202 West Main; Ed Davenport Civic Center, 816 San Angelo Highway; Heart of Texas Events Center, 804 San Angelo Highway; Heart of Texas Country Music Museum, 1701 South Bridge Street

Tracy Pitcox is an award-winning Texas Disc Jockey with an international following of his traditional country music programs, interviews, and books.  He is host of “Hillbilly Hits” and founder of the Heart of Texas Country Music Museum in Brady, Texas, which displays memorabilia from over 100 country music entertainers including Patsy Cline, George Jones, Hank Thompson, and Jim Reeves’ 1956 tour bus.

The 1000-member Heart of Texas Country Music Association promotes regular live shows at such venues as the Odeon Theater in Mason and the Texas Theater in Seguin.
