Starting Wednesday, Sept. 10, the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting float entries for the 24th annual Holiday Lighted Parade.  This favorite holiday tradition will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at approximately 6 p.m. in Downtown Kerrville.

Registration information and parade rules can be found online at www.kerrvilletx.gov/1344/Holiday-Lighted-Parade.  All float entries are to be submitted online, with payment required at registration.  Participants should carefully review the rules and regulations prior to submitting their applications.  The fee to participate is $50 per entry plus a three percent card processing fee.

Registration for the parade will close on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m.  The parade is limited to the first 96 entries.  If space is still available, late registration will be accepted until noon on Nov. 10 for $75 per entry.  Entries will NOT be accepted once the parade is at capacity or after the late registration deadline.

The Holiday Lighted Parade began in 2001 and features participants from businesses, non-profits, youth groups, car clubs, and marching units.  Awards will be given to the winners in four categories: Marching, Youth, Non-Profit, and Commercial Business.  A panel of local judges will evaluate each participant during the parade.  Winners will be announced at the courthouse lighting ceremony directly following the parade.  First place in each category will be awarded $150.

For additional information, contact the Parks and Recreation Dept. at (830) 257-7300, or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
