Ingram aims to have flood warning systems in place by summer

Ingram city officials are aiming to have new outdoor flood warning systems installed along the Guadalupe River before the peak summer season.  The initiative, funded by a Senate bill, aims to enhance flood prevention measures and watershed protection in the area.  The project will begin by identifying flood-prone areas and developing operational strategies.

The Upper Guadalupe River Authority has partnered with local commissioners to utilize the funding, which will see the installation of sirens and other flood prevention methods.  With the project now approved, Ingram plans to erect three siren towers along the river, costing over $200,000.  Ingram officials remain hopeful that the warning systems will be operational by the original deadline this summer.

Kerr County is expected to invest more than $5 million in new towers and flood warning upgrades.
