The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, assisted by members of the Kerrville Police Department’s Patrol Division and Special Operations Unit, served a felony warrant in the 100 block of Candelite Drive in Ingram, after learning that two suspects wanted for a possible murder may be hiding out at the location.
According to a press release, Alejandro and Gustavo Cantu, of Greenbay, Wisconsin, were wanted for an alleged drug-related murder in Green Bay which was said to have occurred in April 2022. The US Marshals Service was also actively seeking the Cantu brothers.
In court documents, witnesses placed the Cantu brothers and a third suspect, Jacob Ventura, also from Green Bay, at the scene of the murder. Ventura has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
Wisconsin authorities set Ventura’s bail at $1 million cash, citing the defendant’s lengthy criminal record and the seriousness of the crime. Ventura’s public defender had argued for a lesser bond arguing that his client did not actually fire the gun.
During the investigation, the KCSO Special Operations Division made contact with Gustavo Cantu and a female passenger during a traffic stop conducted just a few miles from their last known location. The SRT was deployed for the protection of all present at the scene, and officers made entry into the home.
Authorities say that Alejandro Cantu, 31, was not located at the residence and is currently wanted by law enforcement officials. Cantu is described as being 6’0, 165 lbs., with brown eyes and black hair. He has ‘Cantu’ tattooed on his left forearm alongside several other tattoos.
KCSO is asking the public to contact them if anyone has any information regarding Cantu’s whereabouts. Anyone with any information regarding this case can call (830) 896-1216, or contact the Kerr County Crime Stoppers at (830) 896-TIPS.
Arrested in the traffic stop were Gustavo Cantu, 39, and Naomi Rose Cadotte, 33, both of Wisconsin. Both have been booked into the Kerr County Jail.
