The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about sensitive child images transmitted from a location in Kerr County during the month of November.  An investigation initiated by the KCSO Criminal Investigations Division (CID) determined that the source of the transmitted images was from a residence in the 2000 block of Zysko Lane in Kerrville.

The Special Operations Division (SOD) executed a search warrant on December 10 at the residence and recovered a number of cellular and computer devices from two individuals living at the residence, according to a press release.  After the devices were examined by the KCSO Forensic Lab, it was determined that the owner of some of the devices, Michael Alan Harvey, 40, of Kerrville was in possession of a large amount of sensitive images.  Based on this discovery, three arrest warrants were issued by a Kerr County Justice of the Peace.

Harvey was arrested without incident at his residence on December 11.  He was booked into the Kerr County Jail with bonds set at $105,000.

“The message is clear for those who participate in industries that prey on children – law enforcement here and elsewhere will use every legal tool to protect our kids.  I could not be prouder of the smart investigative work and dedication to the job shown by our CID and SOD teams,” said Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha.
