Veterans are being urged to sign up for the VA’s free class being offered virtually online on Thursday, March 7, from 12:30-2 p.m.  The upcoming class is titled: “Airborne Hazards and Burn Pits: What You Need to Know,” and veterans can attend through their personal computer, tablet, or smartphone, according to Veterans Affairs Secretary Denis McDonough.

McDonough says that some 4 million U.S. Armed Forces veterans who were deployed at any time in the last 30 years were exposed to burn pits.  Those interested in learning more about the class can visit:  https://www.warrelatedillness.va.gov/WARRELATEDILLNESS/education/local-offerings/support/AirborneHazardsFlyer.pdf.

All veterans wishing to join the class will need to register.  Anyone experiencing difficulties in registering can email the VA’s War Related Illness and Injury Study Center at NJWRIISCEDTEAM@va.gov.
