The Kerr County Veterans Service Office (VSO) will be temporarily closed next week.  Along with most Kerr County, Texas, offices, the VSO, will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.  Then, the VSO will continue to be closed from Tuesday through Thursday, Feb. 17-19, in observance of the Presidents Day holiday.

Veterans and their families who need to reach the office while it is closed may still do so by calling (830) 792-2203, or by emailing inquiries to veterans.service@veterans.kerrcountytx.gov.  Messages will be responded to in the order in which they are received.

Additionally, those who have documents they need to submit may place them in the locked Dropbox located near the blue bench at the entrance of the Allie Burton Annex, 550 Earl Garrett Street in Kerrville.  Normal operations are expected to resume on Monday, Feb. 23.

Veterans, their survivors, dependents or caregivers who need immediate assistance are urged to contact the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Southwest District Office by calling (800)-252-8387, or by emailing claims@tvc.texas.gov.  Individuals can schedule an appointment at https://TVC.texas.gov/claims/appointments/.

Any veterans in crisis or anyone who is concerned about a veteran experiencing crisis may receive confidential help 24/7 through the Veterans Crisis Line.  Either dial 988 and press Option “1” or text 838255.
