Kerrville Library’s “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program kicks off June 1

The Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library is kicking off the start of summer with its “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program beginning June 1, from 6-8 p.m. on the library grounds. The event includes music by Ken Gaines, a bounce house, Friends of the Library, Kerrville Pets Alive, Shims Be Blessed Food Truck, and special guests from the Kerrville Fire Department and the Kerrville Police Department.

Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins June 1 and concludes on Wednesday, July 26. Participants can register online at Library.webmaster@kerrvilletx.gov. Additionally, reading logs and summer calendars can be picked up at the library or downloaded at https://buttholdsworth.librarycalendar.com/events.

Throughout the summer, professional children’s performers will offer entertaining and educational programs which are free and open to organized groups and daycares. The events will be held at the Caillouxb Theater on Wednesdays beginning at 10 a.m.

Craft programs for youths will be held on Thursdays from June 8 – July 20, and registration is required for each craft. For more information, call (830) 258-1274. Pre-School Story Time will be conducted on Mondays at 10 a.m. in the library meeting room, followed by Calm and Color at 10:30 a.m.

The popular Lego Club will once again be happening every Monday from June 5 through July 24, at 2 p.m. in the library meeting room. All sessions are open to family groups and registration is required. Private sessions are dependent on availability.

The library’s final event of the 2023 Summer Reading Program will be the Awards Pizza Party, scheduled for July 26 at the library, from 1:30 – 3 p.m. Children are encouraged to read at least six hours for a certificate, free book and a prize. Teens who read four books will receive a certificate and a free book, and those who read eight books will receive a certificate , a free book and an entry for a special prize.
