Kerrville Independent School District will be hosting a voluntary COVID-19 vaccination clinic which will be conducted at the Tivy High School Gym on Saturday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Pfizer vaccine will be administered by the Texas Military Department to people age 12 and older and is available to students, staff and Kerrville families.
Vaccines are free of charge but pre-registration is required in order to ensure enough vaccine is available. The second dose of the vaccine will be given on Saturday, September 4.
The CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccinations are not required of Kerrville ISD students or staff. Additional information can be found at www.kisd.net.
Schreiner University will be hosting a Kerr County COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic on August 18 at the Mountaineer Fitness Center. An email is required to register for the free clinic, and only one unique email per sign-up is allowed. For further assistance, call (210) 949-2000.
The Texas Department of State Health Services said Thursday that 8,100 Texans are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, the highest total since February 12. As of August 5, DSHS reports 172,026 active COVID-19 cases, and the state’s confirmed death toll stands at 52,297. 53.17% of all eligible Texans are fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
