The Kerrville Independent School District said Thursday that due to continued unsafe driving conditions, the district remains closed Friday, February 4, and all activities will be cancelled through Friday. The district will resume normal operations on Monday, February 7.
Some U.I.L. activities will be rescheduled for Saturday, February 5, and the Athletic Department will provide updates when any decisions are made.
Boerne ISD has also announced that due to inclement weather conditions, classes are cancelled and all offices will be closed Friday, February 4.
The Fredericksburg Independent School District has announced that due to the likelihood of difficult travel conditions created by wintry precipitation, all classes are cancelled for Friday, February 4. There will be no student instruction and all offices will be closed.
Due to weather, several scheduled athletic events in Gillespie County have been rescheduled. FHS basketball vs. Boerne has been moved to 1 p.m. on Saturday, varsity only.
The FHS boys will be playing at home, and the FHS girls will be in Boerne. The FHS swim team will now compete on Monday, Feb. 7, and Tuesday, Feb. 8 in College Station, with the region tournament being delayed through the weekend. Harper basketball will now face Mason in Mason on Saturday, with games starting at 2 p.m., varsity only.
Other Fredericksburg schools who announced that school will be closed on Friday include St. Mary’s Catholic School and Ambleside School.
