On Tuesday, Marble Falls Volunteer Fire Chief Michael Phillips was remembered at a memorial which was held at Marble Falls High School.  Phillips, a 30-year veteran of fire service, disappeared on July 5 while responding to a call during severe flooding.  Despite extensive search and recovery efforts, he has not been found.

At the memorial, fellow firefighters, community members and loved ones remembered Phillips as a dedicated leader, mentor and friend.  A video clip played during the service showed Phillips speaking about his role as a mentor in the department.

It has been more than 20 days since Phillips was swept away, and the search for him continues.  Flags across Burnet County were lowered to half-staff in his honor.
