Plenty of entertainment offerings this weekend throughout the Texas Hill Country

Texas Hill Country residents will have plenty of entertainment options this upcoming weekend starting with the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department’s “Concerts by the River” series on Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m. in Louise Hays Park, located at 202 Thompson Drive.  The Friday concert features “The Flashbacks” and “The Exit 505 Band”, and food and beverages from area vendors will be available for purchase.

Concert-goers are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs, flash lights, bug spray and picnic blankets.  The City also wants to remind people that glass containers and smoking (including e-cigarettes) are not permitted in parks pursuant to city ordinance.
Also Friday, April 29, in Boerne, Movie Nights are back at the Main Plaza, with this Friday feature being “Raya and the Last Dragon.”  Movie goers are encouraged to get to the site early in order to pick out their spot and enjoy the free, pre-show entertainment.  

On Saturday, April 30, the Highland Games and Celtic Festival will be center stage in front of Stonehenge at the Hill Country Arts Foundation, in Ingram.  The event will play host to more than 15 vendors and will include plenty of music and competitions, beginning at 9 a.m.

Looking further ahead, the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau will be celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week May 1 – 7 with this year’s theme being “Future of Travel.”  Fredericksburg and Gillespie County experienced a record-setting lodging occupancy and sales tax collections in 2021, and several new hotels and attractions are already scheduled to debut in the next few years.
