Schreiner University has announced a $25,000 donation from Karl and Beverly Ransleben to the Hill Country College Fund (HCCF), as a challenge to others to join them to support local students.

According to University officials, this gift reinforces their commitment to supporting education and their desire to encourage local students to stay in the area for their college experience.  The Ransleben gift will help meet the HCCF goal of $700,000 and inspire others to contribute to this scholarship.

“The generosity of Karl and Beverly Ransleben is truly inspiring,” said Danielle Jenschke, Schreiner’s Director of Development.  “They are truly passionate about supporting local students and I don’t know what we would do without the Ransleben’s generosity.”  Jenschke noted that most Schreiner University students live within 52 miles of Kerrville.

The Hill Country College Fund directly supports students from Bandera, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Mason, Medina, Menard, Blanco and Real counties.

To celebrate the ongoing success of the Hill Country College Fund, Schreiner University is inviting the community to the Hill Country College Fund Luncheon on March 20 on the Schreiner University Quad (weather permitting).  The event will highlight the transformative impact of scholarships made possible by the HCCF, provide an opportunity for others to respond to the Ransleben challenge, and recognize the generosity of donors who are changing lives of local students in the Texas Hill Country.

All community members are invited to attend the HCCF luncheon.  Guests are asked to RSVP by March 19 by contacting Sandy Nash at snash@schreiner.edu or calling 830-792-7214.  For those unable to attend but who wish to support local students and respond to the Ransleben’s Hill Country College Fund Challenge, donations can be made at Schreiner.edu/giving/HCCF or by calling 830-792-7214.
