Upcoming candidate forums scheduled for Fredericksburg and Boerne on Wednesday

May 6 is Election Day. According to the Texas Office of the Secretary of State, the uniform election in May of an odd-numbered year is a date on which many local subdivisions, such as cities, school districts, and water districts, have their regular general elections for members of their governing bodies or special elections to fill vacancies.

The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Candidate Forum to hear from all persons seeking election to the Fredericksburg City Council at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 12 in the H-E-B Room at Hill Country University Center. The Candidate Forum will also be livestreamed, courtesy of FBG.live, and will be available for on-demand viewing following the event. Candidates Randy Briley, Sharon Joseph, Charlie Kiehne, Timothy Ellis Riley and Bobby Watson are vying for two seats on the Fredericksburg City Council.

The Boerne Star, in partnership with Boerne Radio, will be hosting an election forum on Wednesday, April 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Gathering Hall. The public is invited to learn more about the individuals currently running for local government seats, including two candidates vying for Mayor of Boerne, two candidates hoping to fill the Boerne District 2 Council seat and the three candidates hoping to represent Place 3 on the Fair Oaks City Council.

The First Day of Early Voting in Person is Monday, April 24. The last day to Apply for Ballot by Mail (received, not postmarked) is Tuesday, April 25. The Last Day of Early Voting in Person is Tuesday, May 2. Anyone with additional questions can contact the Elections Division of the Texas Secretary of State at (800) 252-VOTE (8683).
