Vietnam Wall and Cost of Freedom Tribute arrives in Fredericksburg on Wednesday

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute’s Vietnam Wall and Cost of Freedom Tribute will arrive with a first responder escort in Fredericksburg on Wednesday, April 30.  The Fredericksburg Police Department, Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office and the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department will leave Arch Ray’s parking lot, 4160 US 290 East, at 1 p.m. and travel west along the highway to South Adams Street.

Those who wish to participate in the escort process can line Main and South Adams streets and the entrance of Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park and pay tribute to Vietnam veterans on April 30.

There will be an opening ceremony at Pioneer Pavilion at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, and the wall display will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on May 1.  On Friday, May 2, it will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, May 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
