In celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, Whataburger, the Texas-based fast-food chain is once again hosting its annual “Whatateacher” event, offering free breakfast to teachers and school staff.  On Thursday, May 7, educators can visit participating Whataburger locations between 5 and 9 a.m. local time to receive a complimentary breakfast item.

Options include a Breakfast on a Bun, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, or Breakfast Taquito.  To redeem the offer, guests must present a valid school ID.  The promotion is available for dine-in, take-out, and drive-thru orders, with a limit of one free item per person.  Hours may vary, so customers are encouraged to confirm details with their local restaurant.

Beyond breakfast, Whataburger is expanding its support for educators through financial contributions.  The company announced it will award $1,000 classroom grants to 60 teachers across its 17-state footprint, totaling $60,000.  The funding is intended to support classroom supplies, innovative teaching ideas, and enhanced learning opportunities.  The grants are part of Whataburger’s broader “Feeding Student Success” initiative, which focuses on supporting education, recognizing teachers, and investing in local communities.

Students and families can also participate in the celebration by purchasing a limited-edition “Whatateacher” bundle from the Whatastore.  The gift set includes a 40-ounce Whataburger tumbler, a black Whatateacher T-shirt, a notebook, wristlet, and bag – items designed to bring a touch of school spirit and brand pride into the classroom.

The free breakfast offer is not available through the Whataburger app.  Additional details about the promotion and the company’s education initiatives can be found on www.Whataburger.com.

Founded in Texas and headquartered in San Antonio, Whataburger operates more than 1,100 locations across 17 states.
