BISD to place tax rate election on November ballot

The Boerne Independent School District Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a Voter Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) set for November 4, 2025.  The election will ask voters to consider a three-cent increase to the district's Maintenance and Operations tax rate, potentially generating an estimated $4.8 million annually for the district. Fredericksburg Music Academy orientation set for Tuesday

Fredericksburg Music Academy orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 5:30 p.m.  The academy's after-school program for kindergarten through fifth-grade students is from 4-5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, starting from August 26 at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 1800 Llano St., in Fredericksburg. Kerrville-Schreiner Park now open; River remains closed until further notice

Kerr County to begin evaluations of flood-damages homes and businesses

Starting Thursday, Kerr County is beginning to evaluate buildings and homes damaged by the July 4 floods.  This step is part of the necessary process when the president declares a flooding disaster.  The county says the assessments are necessary to make sure homeowner's build back safer and stronger. Kerrville Chamber of Commerce opens a donation portal and recovery fund

The Kerrville Chamber of Commerce is actively seeking donations to resume grants for flood-hit businesses.  The chamber has collected roughly $1.4 million in donations, with some of that money coming from the Community Foundation.
