The Kerrville Police Department has confirmed the death of one individual following a single vehicle accident on Sunday in Kerrville. On March 24, at approximately 1:37 a.m., a single vehicle was involved in a rollover accident in the 200 block of Holdsworth. According to a press release, one passenger in the vehicle was killed as a result of the wreck, and the driver, along with three additional passengers, sustained what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries.
An initial investigation indicates a 2007 BMW was traveling east on Holdsworth Drive when the vehicle left the roadway, overturned and impacted a tree. KPD and Kerrville Fire EMS arrived at the scene and immediately began rendering aid. Three passengers in the BMW, two fifteen year- olds and a 14-year old from Kerrville, were transported to Peterson Regional Medical Center, where two were treated and released. The third passenger was later transported to University Hospital in San Antonio via ambulance for further medical evaluation and treatment.
The 19-year old driver from Fredericksburg was extracted from the vehicle and air-lifted to San Antonio Medical Center. No further information regarding the condition of the driver or other injured parties is currently available.
The fourth passenger, a 15-year-old from Kerrville, was declared deceased at the scene. The family of the deceased has been notified. KPD is not releasing the name of the victim at this time.
KPD is currently conducting an investigation into the cause of this crash, and the investigation is in its early stages. KPD states more information and updates will be released as the investigation progresses.
