ERCOT issues Weather Watch for Wednesday

ERCOT, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, issued a Weather Watch for Wednesday, May 8, due to "unseasonably high temperatures, high levels of expected maintenance outages during the spring shoulder months, and the potential for lower reserves."  While the notice sent out Tuesday could cause concern, ERCOT said grid conditions are expected to be normal and that no action would be needed from customers. Portion of West Main Street in Kerrville temporarily closed beginning Monday

Alford appointed as new Kerr County Clerk

During a special session Monday, May 6, the Kerr County Commissioners' Court formally accepted the resignation of Kerr County Clerk Ian Collum and appointed Nadene Alford as the county's new county clerk.  Collum cited health reasons for the reason why he decided to resign,  Alford will serve through December 31, 2024. KCSO makes arrest following high speed motorcycle chase

Kerr County sheriff deputies arrested one individual following a high speed motorcycle chase which began in Gillespie County on Sunday, May 5.  A Gillespie County deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop after observing the motorcycle at a speed of 93 MPH.  The driver failed to yield to the stop and continued south on Highway 16 toward Kerr County. The Kerr County May 4, election results are in, with 4,551 of 16,954 (26.84%) registered voters casting their ballots. Joe Herring, Jr., has been elected as Kerrville's new mayor with 2,692 (59.43%) of the votes.  Roman Garcia received 1,838 (40.57%).
