Kerr County is currently in a local state of disaster, due to extreme, life-threatening flooding that occurred overnight from heavy rains that fell Thursday, July 3, and overnight into Friday, July 4. Much needed rain swept through Kerrville overnight, but the downside is the severe weather may impact many of today's scheduled July 4th events.  Citizens are encouraged to exercise caution when driving and avoid low water crossings.  Kerrville Police and Fire Department personnel are currently assessing emergency needs. The City of Fredericksburg has canceled the 2025 Fourth of July Parade scheduled for Friday, July 4, at 10 a.m., due to inclement weather.  The Main Street parade will not be rescheduled.
