The Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Small Business Administration (SBA) workshop on resources available to local businesses, including information on Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL). The workshop for chamber members and Kerr and Comfort chamber members is on Wednesday, July 30 at 9 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Visitor Information Center's amphitheater, located at 302 E. Firefighters in Hunt have announced that they will not require volunteer assistance for the next several days.  The Volunteer Fire Department shared on social media that no volunteers are needed through Tuesday. Volunteers for relief efforts are welcome to return on Wednesday, July 30.  Volunteers should report to the pavilion at Preservation Park to be dispatched.  (Next to Hunt store)

Mercy Chefs, a Virginia-based relief organization, announced the opening of a long-term recovery kitchen in Kerr County following the Fourth of July floods.  It is expected to open by August 4. The Beacon of Hope kitchen will be located at the Light on the Hill at Mount Wesley, 610 Methodist Encampment Road in Kerrville.  The kitchen will serve fresh, chef-prepared meals through December 2025. An elderly man was stabbed to death on Saturday morning, allegedly by his son during an argument, according to authorities.  Bexar County Sheriff's investigators said a 71-year-old man was found dead from multiple stab wounds and a kitchen knife, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the sink inside the residence.
