The Gillespie County Commissioners Court set the dates and times for public hearings regarding the FY2025-2026 budget, tax rate and salaries of county officials Monday morning. The hearings will be held on Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Court room at the county courthouse, 101 W. Main St., in Fredericksburg.

The City of Fredericksburg's Coach Tony Knopp Town Pool will close for the season Sunday, August 31. The Splashpad, located adjacent to Town Pool, will be open through Sunday, Sept. 28.  The Splashpad is open six days a week, Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., except for Sundays, which are noon to 5 p.m.

The City of Kerrville Public Works Department has announced that trash collection trucks will run on Monday, Sept. 1.  There is no change to the trash collection schedule. The landfill will also be open that day from 7:50 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. City Hall will be closed on Labor Day, so any questions regarding trash service on that day need to be directed to Republic Services at (830) 522-3062.  City […]

FEMA announced the opening of a new Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) to provide support to survivors and flood-affected families in Kerrville.  The new location comes after the closure of the center located at First Baptist Church in Kerrville, which opened just short of a week after the disaster and remained in operation until Friday. Cleanup efforts continue in Kerr County more than seven weeks after the devastating July 4 floods.
