The City of Boerne is moving forward with the long-planned Buc-ee's in Boerne. The City recently approved roadway and drainage improvements connected to the development.  A pre-construction meeting is scheduled for October 21, and project plans have been approved with a contractor in place. The proposed Buc-ee's would be more than 53,000 square feet along I-10.  There's still no confirmed opening date.

Forty-four animals were seized from a Kerrville property following an animal cruelty case.  A court order issued September 29 involves dogs, chickens and roosters.  Court records say the animals had been cruelly treated and ordered that they be sold, adopted or transferred to an animal shelter or animal protection organization. Two men escaped without injuries after a plane crashed and caught fire Friday afternoon near Boerne Stage Field.  The crash was reported around 1:50 p.m. on Boerne Stage Road, minutes from the airfield.  According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the aircraft struck a utility pole after going down.
