Emergency crews responded to a house explosion and fire in Gillespie County, according to a statement released by the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office. Gillespie County Sheriff Chris Ayala announced the passing of Gillespie County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Carter and is asking for prayers for Carter's family during this difficult time.  Deputy Carter passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer. The former chief health officer at Camp Mystic has had her nursing license suspended, according to records released Wednesday by the Texas Board of Nursing.  State regulators said Mary Elizabeth Eastland failed to establish adequate emergency preparedness measures for campers and staff, including evacuation procedures and emergency training protocols for camp nurses. A missing 81-year-old woman was found dead on Wednesday at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD).  The woman, who has yet to be identified, "became lost" on the Loop Trail at Enchanted Rock around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, TPWD said in a news release.
