Kerr County Judge to enact order prohibiting fireworks sales and use

Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly has confirmed he will be implementing a temporary disaster order prohibiting the sale and use of fireworks anywhere in Kerr County beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 2, set to automatically expire at 1 a.m. Tuesday, July 5.  The only exception to the order will be the City of Kerrville's professionally supervised fireworks display planned for Monday evening at Louise Hays Park. KCSO continues efforts in keeping drugs off of area streets

The Kerr County Sheriff's Office Special Investigation Unit began an investigation into online promotion of narcotics in the Kerrville area which resulted in a successful "buy-bust" operation in the western portion of the city.  During this particular operation, authorities seized marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, a large amount of cash ,and other drug paraphernalia, according to a press release. Gillespie County extends burn ban 90 days

Gillespie County has extended their county-wide burn ban for an additional 90 days due to the current extreme heat and ongoing dry conditions.  This was a unanimous decision made by Gillespie County commissioners during their regularly scheduled Monday meeting.
