The Fredericksburg City Council and Gillespie County Commissioners Court set public hearings for the proposed increases in tax rates. The City will hold its hearing at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the new City Hall East Campus. The county will have its hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at the county courthouse, 101 W. Main St., in Fredericksburg.

Due to the extensive flood destruction from the July 4 floods, FEMA has granted a request from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to extend the deadline to request flood assistance.  People affected by the Hill Country floods now have until Sept. 28 to apply. The Gillespie County Commissioners Court set the dates and times for public hearings regarding the FY2025-2026 budget, tax rate and salaries of county officials Monday morning.
