The Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department has announced that the Olympic Pool will be open for the summer season starting Saturday, May 25, through Friday, August 9, which also includes Memorial Day (May 27) and July 4. ERCOT, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, issued a Weather Watch for Wednesday, May 8, due to "unseasonably high temperatures, high levels of expected maintenance outages during the spring shoulder months, and the potential for lower reserves."  While the notice sent out Tuesday could cause concern, ERCOT said grid conditions are expected to be normal and that no action would be needed from customers. During a special session Monday, May 6, the Kerr County Commissioners' Court formally accepted the resignation of Kerr County Clerk Ian Collum and appointed Nadene Alford as the county's new county clerk.  Collum cited health reasons for the reason why he decided to resign,  Alford will serve through December 31, 2024.
