The Gillespie County Republican Women club and the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce are set to host two city council candidate forums Wednesday and Thursday, April 16-17. The Republican Women's club forum will be held at Republican Party headquarters, 901 W. Main St., Fredericksburg, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Chamber of Commerce forum will be held at the Albert Hotel, 213 E. Austin St., in Fredericksburg, from 6-7:30 p.m.

Hill Country Drive will be closed entirely from Highway 16 to Cully Drive this Saturday, April 12, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  This closure is being made in an effort to complete the portion of the sidewalk improvements on Hill Country Drive sooner and allow the contractor, J3 Company, LLC, to work when there is less traffic.
